Welcome! In this guide we will show you step by step how to set up your
mobile device to receive your student or employee emails while on the go
so you will always be informed about what is happening on campus!

student email via a mail client or mobile device, you will need to
create a POP password which you will use to authenticate when
configuring your mail client or mobile device.
NOTE: Before you can access your student email via IMAP, you will first need to create a POP password.

Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server - requires SSL:

Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - requires TLS:
smtp.gmail.com (use authentication) Use Authentication: Yes Use STARTTLS: Yes (some clients call this SSL) Port: 465 or 587

your full student email address (including @mymdc.net)

your full student email address (username@mymdc.net)

How do I access my student email using my iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad?
Note: Setup instructions below are for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad devices running software version 3.0.
Create a POP password for your student email account.
Enable IMAP from within your student email.
On your iPhone or iPod touch's home screen, tap Settings
Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars
Tap Add Account...
Tap Other
Tap Add Mail Account
Enter your account information, being sure to use your full student email address.
Tap Save
For Incoming Mail Server:
Host Name is 'imap.gmail.com'
User Name is your full student email address, including '@mymdc.net'
Password is your POP password
For Outgoing Mail Server:
Host Name is 'smtp.gmail.com'
User Name is your full student email address, including '@mymdc.net
Password is your POP password
Tap Save

How do I configure my Android device with the college's employee email system?
Note: These instructions will vary depending on the flavor (version) of your Android device.
Bring up the System Menu
Select Settings
Select Accounts and sync
Click Add account
Click Corporate
Enter your fullemail address, password, and click Next
If prompted with Terms of Service, click OK
Enter the Exchange Server settings as shown below (replacing jdoe with your user name)
Click Next
If prompted with Security warning, click OK
Select your desired Account options, click Next
Enter MDC as the Account Name
Click Done
If you receive a system notification to Activate device, click Activate
How do I configure my iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch with the college's employee email system?
NOTE: These instructions have been verified to work with iOS version 4.3.3.
1. Go to Settings
2. Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars
3. Select Add Account...
4. Select Microsoft Exchange
5. Enter your Exchange account information:
Email: <username@mdc.edu>
Domain: MDCC
Username: <your username> (do not add @mdc.edu)
Password: <your password>
Description: MDC
6. Select Next
7. Verify email.mdc.edu as the Server
8. Select Next
9. Select the information you would like to sync
10. Select Save
How do I configure my BlackBerry device with the college's employee email system?
NOTE: Some BlackBerry models require the configuration to be completed on the device rather than through the Portal.
From your computer, visit your
carrier's BlackBerry Portal.Log into your BlackBerry account. If you
have not created your BlackBerry account, you may create one by clicking
on the Create New Account button and following the onscreen instructions.
